Colorado Security Officer Recalls Encounter With Church Gunman

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Security Officer Jeanne Assam shot Matthew Murray on Dec. 9, 2007 during his rampage on the New Life Church.

Murray killed two church members during the shooting, but Assam’s heroics helped prevent others deaths.

Police ultimately determined the gunman was killed by his own bullet, but he was hit numerous times by Assam before he died.

The former Minneapolis police officer recently did an in-depth interview with FOX affiliate KVDR-TV is in Denver.
