I just received this email today regarding a potentially scary situation:

My name is Ted Beaty I am security director for West Gate Free Will Baptist church in Spartanburg S.C. Just a word of caution for security staff working parking areas.

We
have just started our security team and one of the things we are doing
is parking lot patrol. A few weeks ago we had a truck broken into
during the morning service. The truck belonged to one of my security
staff. It was unlocked with a gps and other items in plane view. The
subj. got away. When he left the Church he went to West Gate Mall and
used the credit cards then to a pawn shop to pawn the gps.

After
the videos from the stores came in the subj. was identified as Jason
Osborne. The subj. is wanted in several states for various crimes and
has made the statement that he would not go back to jail. Osborne was
armed when he came to the parking lot and would no doubt engaged my
staff in a fire fight had they confronted him.

Thankfully, this didn't happen, but it does show the potential is there to confront dangerous people. Never be afraid to get the police involved right away!
