Yesterday we had another church shooting. The incident occurred in Knoxville at a Unitarian church during a children’s play Sunday morning. Three of the members of the church swarmed the shooter and held him to the ground. The police arrived in four minutes and then took the shooter into custody.

The shooter walked into the sanctuary with a shotgun hidden in a guitar case. He removed his weapon and started to fire into the church members sitting in the seats. One died immediately and the second later at the hospital. The first to die was Greg McKendry, a 60-year-old usher and board member at the church who placed himself between the shooter and the children on stage.

AT this time it is believed that this is a hate crime and the shooter was shouting hate speach as he was attacking the church. Here is a link to additional information.
