Guys;

This forum had been showing a definite lack of activity…until the shooting last week. I think Jack said there were 8500(?) hits after the shooting.

We need to stay active here, sharing techniques and intel with each other. It's a great resource.

I agree. I guess I browse and scrounge more than talk, but that's just my nature. Hitting the site and the forum is at the top of my "things to do" list every morning.

The interesting thing that as a moderator, I get to see the number of people that visit the site and the forums. The numbers would amaze you.

However, it has always been that people involved in church security seldom discuss it, like it is a family secret. I do try to put a number of items here and on the site. Hopefully more of the members and guests will decide that they want to share and not just stay in the background.

Doing this site has been a great blessing to both Glen and me. I can not even guess at how many of you I have had phone conversations with or traded emails with. From those calls and emails I had added many articles and posts to this site.

Sometimes the amount of information is almost overwhelming and I do need to filter what we post. Please do take the time to share your thoughts, comments, incidents, lessons learned and want and needs here at the site forum.

I know that I as a reader of this website, I sometimes "come and go" as to what is going on in my life, but I for one am trying to make this site onto my daily "hit list". This site is by far the best that I have found for support and info! Thanks to all who are involved!

I'm also a member of the US Concealed Carry Association (www.usconcealedcarry.com), which I was pleased to find has a large number of Christian gun enthusiasts. I referred Church Security Alliance to its members within a few forum posts right after the Marysville shooting which hopefully generated some additional chatter here. It's important that everyone talk about the threats that churches face today, and not be lulled into a false sense of security because “it's never happened to us before.” We need to not only chat here, but also promote like-minded organizations that bring the issues of protection from violent predators to the forefront.
