We have been having many different visitors to our church lately and it
has been a blessing. On Sunday, I had greeted a few of them and tried
to make them feel welcome.

One lady had brought two children with her. Just as the service was
about to begin, the two kids asked where the bathrooms were. I directed
them to each respective rest room. I had just locked up the offering
and was talking to our man on duty when we heard the little girl
screaming in the ladies room.

We both took off inside, thinking she had fallen or something.

When the Sanctuary was built, the rest room stalls were built as little
rooms, with a regular door. Not the metal walls you see in most
businesses. The lock on the stall the little girl was in had
malfunctioned. I couldn't open it with the master key.

My partner asked the little girl to step back from the door and he then
hit it with his shoulder. Hard. The door opened and I took the girl to
her mother.

I explained to her what happened and assured her we were sorry. I hope
it didn't sour them and they want to come back in the future.

So, to all those churches who have teams or are thinking about starting
one, incidents like this are much more common than gunfights and
robberies.

Oh, and the guy on duty with me that morning? The door slammed back and popped him in the nose, causing it to bleed profusely.

All in the name of Jesus.

Smince

It sounds like all went well. It is amazing as to how varied the incidents will be that we end up dealing. Hopefully the family will return and continue to enjoy the services at you church.

Th ehope the sting in the nose did not last too long.
