Hello all. My name is Ryan. I am head assistant of security in my church here in Greenville SC. I really love this site, it has good info. My church is currently in the process of starting a team. We currently have about 10 guys on the team so far but need more. Our church poplulation is about 800. The only equipment we use is a golf cart. Hopeing to get things rolling and get plans in place and more equipment and training for are people.

Thanks Jack!! Im lovin this site already. I even passed it up to are pastor and other security guys. We need to start buckling down at our church. To much is going, to many people, no plans. so I think this site will help us out.

i really appreciate all the information i have gained from this site, from the resources that are made available as well as the insights and experiences from this forum. I have been researching church security for a number of months, and have finally (along with a couple of the other men of the church) presented a general plan to our pastor. Although he was quite enthusiastic about the idea, he is still interested in talking to some pastors and/or heads of security to get a better feel for what we are in for.

I would love to hear from some of you who have had some experience in a church security ministry, to get some contact information that I might pass along to him. He is somewhat "old school", so a phone number would probably be more useful to him than an e-mail address.
