How do we start?

We are looking at putting security ministry together and there is a lot to consider. At this time we will be limited on what “tools” we will be able to use. I think the church will provide radios. I think we will be lucky to get some type of non lethal tools approved. Most likely OC spray or maybe a baton. Should these be issued by the church or purchased by the members of the team?

How do we train? Do we we need to spray real OC in training? Should the trainer be certified and by whom?

Thanks

Hi Bill,

All training should be realistic in nature, but DON'T use reall O.C. You can purchase inert canisters of O.C. (where its just water). I am looking into stocking it on my basicsecuritygear website.

Again, we will address this in a future video here on the site and on the BSG site.

The big idea with weapons is intention to use. Its unwise to pull a weapon if you don't intend to use it. Training makes everything automatic, the more you do it in practice is the likely response you will have in real life.

As stated in another post. I think buying it, practicing with it, and then articulating why you used it (if you have to use it).

Take a look at the baton videos and let me know what you think.

Glen
