Suburban Indianapolis Church Members Robbed During Service

Lawrence, IN – Wednesday night members of Centro Cristiano Church on North Franklin Road were robbed of their valuables and money during a service at the church.

Lawrence police reported three men entered the church at about 7:35 PM when three men entered the church and ordered everyone to the ground.  While one man armed with a gun stood watch at the door, his partners reportedly relieved church members of their property.

The men described as 5’7? to 5’10” wore dark hoodies and dark colored pants.  They were last seen running North and West around the church as they escaped.

The police said they would return to the church the next day and canvas the area for video footage of the suspects or their vehicle.

According to WTHR, ”

“Morales and his son-in-law, David, are not letting the robbery keep them from their faith. They opened the church at the North Franklin Road location about six years ago. The only problem they have had was a break-in, where someone stole one of their musical instruments, but now they have an alarm system.

Morales plans not only to improve the lighting around the church, but also install cameras and hire a security guard.”

Lawrence is a city near Indianapolis in Marion County, with a population of approximately 46,000 people.
